In recent years higher education institutions and governments in developing nations have followed their counterparts in developed countries in adopting quality assurance to enhance the quality of education provided. This according to Kotler (1985) is because the universities have seen the provision of higher education to become a product and have been driven by competition to examine the quality of their services, to redefine their product and to measure customer satisfaction in ways that are familiar to service marketing specialists. With the issuance of Presidential Charter to the University of Professional Studies in 2008 conferring on it the status of a fully-fledged public university in Ghana, the management realized that the institution’s long- term survival depends on how good its services are and that quality sets one university apart from the rest. Consequently various quality assurance policies, initiatives and action lines were developed to improve the quality of education and other services it provides such that the primary responsibility of quality assurance lies with the institution itself. After years of implementing these initiatives, the paper felt that the time had come to take a moment to analyse the progress or impact these initiatives have had on the quality of education provided by the University

The Rate Heat and Mass transfer effects on a parabolic flow past an infinite isothermal vertical plate with chemical reaction is investigated. The dimensionless governing partial differential equations are solved by Laplace transform method. Exact analytical solutions satisfying the governing coupled partial differential equations and boundary conditions are obtained. Numerical evaluation of the analytical results is performed for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles within the boundary layer and tabulated results for the skin friction coefficient, Nusselt Number and the Sherwood Number are presented and discussed.

This study succinctly explores how Bhartṛhari presents the language stratification and some views of his contemporaries on it, while comparing his thoughts, where applicable, with relevant positions of recent philosophers and linguists beyond Indian soil

This study has been conducted to determine level of agreement between media practice by the top news channels and media code formulated by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in 2015 in context of media freedom being exercised by the TV channels of Pakistan. The stud is based on perception of the broadcast journalists working in newsrooms of the news channels. A survey was conducted to asnalyse perception of the professionals. As PEMRA code was formulated to control TV channels but the professionals don’t think PEMRA code snub media freedom giving an impression of “responsible journalism” being practiced in the country.

This research dwells on an assessment of infrastructure development in Akure, Nigeria due to the huge infrastructure deficit arising from a number of factors in Nigerian cities. These factors include nonchalance of residents, agencies’ negligence and poor maintenance routine. To achieve the study aim, this paper embarks on an assessment of the functionality status of infrastructure, assessment of residents’ living standard, investigation of the challenges and the performance levels of infrastructure agencies in the town. Survey research design was employed for this study, the major sources of data collection were secondary and primary data sources. The secondary data sources include: peer reviewed journals, reports and population statistics - sourced from library, internet, archives and institutions. The primary data sources include: demographic characteristics, infrastructure assessment, appraisal of living standards and agency performance, sourced through personal observations, interviews and use of copies of structured questionnaire. The study revealed that almost all existing infrastructure were fast depreciating and in bad states. From these infrastructure, 53% of roads were bad, 46% consumers affirm that electricity supply was fairly regular, among other poor assessments. The infrastructural development could have contributed better to a more decent environment, physical outlook and enhanced living standard but a quite dormant performance was noticed from agency’s response. Notwithstanding, the residents are ready to embrace adequate development from their responses. Therefore, recommendations were made to further involve the private sector, focus on revitalization, prioritize projects, adequately fund and employ other strategies like EIA in the development of the infrastructural components.
