The International Journal of Arts, Humanities and Social Studies (IJAHSS) is committed to preserving the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or concerns are identified in published articles, the journal takes appropriate corrective action in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The objective of this policy is to ensure that the published literature remains accurate, transparent, and trustworthy.
Minor errors that do not affect the scientific validity or interpretation of the research may be corrected through a formal correction notice linked to the original article. However, if substantial concerns arise regarding the reliability, integrity, or ethical conduct of the research, the journal will conduct an editorial assessment and may request explanations or supporting documentation from the authors before making a final decision.
Corrective actions may include:
Publication of a correction (Erratum or Corrigendum) for factual or production-related errors.
Publication of an Expression of Concern while a significant ethical or scientific issue is under investigation.
Retraction of an article when findings are proven to be unreliable due to research misconduct, major errors, data fabrication, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other serious violations of publication ethics.
Updating article metadata and indexing records to reflect any published correction or retraction.
Notification of relevant institutions or funding agencies where appropriate.
Retraction notices will remain permanently linked to the original article, clearly stating the reason for the retraction while preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. Whenever possible, the original article will remain accessible with a clear indication that it has been corrected or retracted, ensuring transparency for readers and indexing services.
The journal reviews every case individually and reaches decisions based on objective evidence, ethical principles, and internationally recognized publishing standards. All corrective actions are implemented with fairness, transparency, and due process to maintain confidence in the research published by the journal.
